The Awakened Self

What does it mean to work with ‘the mind?’

We all have a mind. It is our thinking mind, a processing system. It helps us remember things, understand and explain new ideas, and it protects us from many people, places and things come our way. The mind helps us navigate this modern world.

Many of us say, ‘my mind.’ We think of the mind as something that is ours. We also think of the mind as something that is us. As if it contributes to defining who we are. In ways, it does. The mind is here to analyze and produce data. It is here to tell us what is going on. However, the mind is not here to solidify identity or our true authentic essence.

Though the mind is the thinker, it’s not always right. The mind is an old part of consciousness. It has been around since the dawn of the "flight-or-fight” response, developed by our ancestors. In our modern world, we no longer need the mind or the “flight-or-fight” response in the same ways as our caveman ancestors did. But over a course of millennia, the fear responses in these systems are so embedded into the mind, most people of the world have lost touch with their intuition and highest Self.

What is ‘highest self’?

Our highest Self is the essence within us that know and hold our true wisdom. The Self simply is. It is our gut feeling, heart whispers or our intuition. When we connect to our highest Self, we find alignment with all that we are. We find pease and ease. Living from this place will lead us to our best lives.

My approach

In working with the mind, we learn how to identify fears, limitations, patterns, and responses that keep us from living in alignment with our highest Self. I will help you in reframing your relationship with the mind and reconnect deeper in the relationship you have with your Self.
